The QuaranT Diaries #19: You Snow The Drill

What time is it??

CHRISTMAS TIME!!

Let’s get out the decorations.

What time is it??

Christmas time!

That’s right, sing it out loud

What time is it?

Time for cheer, and unification

What time is it?

Christmas time!

Go out and spread that joy about!

Ahhh the first of many Christmas themed posts.

Yes, yes, yes….I know what you are thinking. Some of ya'll may be eager to be on board this season loving train, while others not soooo much lol. I am one of those people who in my book Christmas time begins right as the clock strikes midnight on November 1st. From a face full of mermaid makeup and glitter to pajamas and jingle bells by Michael Buble playing in the background on vinyl. I waste no time when it comes to getting in the jolly and cheerful spirit that surrounds this time of the year.

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. With its traditional purpose that extends love, light, hope, and peace with the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ - right off the bat the season is already one of joy. That joy is soon exuberated and multiplied by a thousand when one embraces and welcomes the spirit of Christmas into their heart. Jesus always taught us to appreciate what we have and to look after others. While how Christmas is celebrated has definitely changed and developed over the years, ultimately where the Christmas spirit stems from still rings true to this day. I know everyone is not a believer of Christ or religion in general, but one thing that is universal is love and joy. Which are two of the things that individuals seek the most specifically during this time of the year. A lot of us are lucky, we have families to go home and celebrate with - but sadly and unfortunately not everyone does. We often take that fact for granted, and it is now (more time than any) where it is important to reach out to those around you - whether you know them or not. A simple smile can go a long way and truly change someone’s day...and even life around.

Honestly, one of the main reasons I love this season is because of the gift of giving. I’m not even necessarily talking about presents. To me, one of the greatest gifts that you can give someone is not only your love - but your time. I know that this Christmas season will look different than those of the past years, but there are still so many ways in which we can make it memorable. Cookie decorating over facetime? The Grinch watch party? We may not all get to celebrate and be with our loved ones face to face, but we should still allow our Christmas spirit to shine through-and heck shine it even brighter this year if you want to, I know I will :)

While my apartment currently still has traces of fall, this time next week my roommates and I will be transforming it into a winter wonderland (screams out in excitement). From lights to trees, reindeer and everything in between (of course can’t forget the bath and body works candles lol). Again, I know some of you may disagree with this-butttttt oh well lol. Christmas makes me happy, and it shouldn’t matter if I want to decorate now, or November 27th. Like I said a few weeks back in my ‘lets ditch the term guilty pleasure’ post; if we like something we should embrace it, and you should never try to take that joy away from someone else. So here I am listening to my Christmas playlist on apple music while I sit in my elf pajamas as I write this for you all. Thinking about these upcoming months; while full of big changes and frankly in a currently nervewracking time - I have this season to help cheer me, and more importantly others, up. Which is what I live for. There is always a bright side and light at the end of the tunnel (in this case a Christmas twinkling light lol).

So here is to this holiday season.

Whether you are like me and celebrate now, or prefer to wait until after thanksgiving.

(my personal calendar goes Christmas - week of thanksgiving- Christmas; sorry not sorry).

To time with family and friends. And new memories and traditions being made, or continued.

Till next time my friends.

Stay happy. Stay Healthy. Stay safe.

And go spread some cheer <3
