There is something special about going somewhere for the first time and getting to experience things that you never have before. And getting to do so with some of your best friends makes it all a million times better.
Last month what started as an “ooo we should do this” actually turned into a “we're doing this” and an impromptu trip was in the making. Flash forward a week later and we were en route to a location where I had never been before. Las Vegas. I know a good chunk of people head to the desert for their 21st. However I am not most ( as we can tell), and instead, I went to Disney and partied it up at the Cove Bar (now lamplight lounge). Having never been to Sin City before, I didn’t know what to expect lol. I knew there would be tons of casinos (and alcohol lol) but besides that, I honestly had no idea. But going in with so little knowledge and zero expectations made the experience all that more fun and memorable.
Now, I won't go into all the details - after all, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas ;) (jkjk nothing bad happened lmaooo-unless you count me getting hit on by captain America and Deadpool...although, is that really a bad thing lol) - but I will share some of my favorite moments from the trip.
Iconic Food:
Three words - Taco Bell cantina.
Now Taco Bell itself is not the most amazing food (sometimes it just hits the spot though), but we do all go there, for one thing, let's be real. The Baja Blast. BB you have my heart, and always will - and the fact that I can get you with tequila oooooooof yesssss (yes I know I can do this at my own home for cheaper, but it's all about the experience yall). I was like a little kid on Christmas walking down the strip with my slushie and I was enjoying every dang sip of it. While on the topic of food, I fell in love with a meal on this trip, and to this day I still dream about it, even a month later. Lobster Me, if I could marry you I would (anything can happen in Vegas 👀). I have always been a lover of pretty much every seafood, but I had never had a lobster roll until then - and boy was my world changed for the better. You know those meals where you just wanna have a full-on photoshoot of the amazing piece of cuisine-art in front of you? This was one of those meals. And while I kept off of social media for my trip (shocker I know, but it kept me more in the moment and for that, I am extremely thankful and blessed), I do have some pictures of it living rent-free in my camera roll (one of the very few photos from the trip lmao, and rightfully so).
Cash Back & Cash Out
I had never gambled or played any slot machines before; besides the one my dad had in our game room growing up, I had no idea what it was or how it worked back then. So when it came time for me to try my hand at the slots I was a bit nervous. Who knew there were so many different kinds and rules to each one. Not me lol. And I would be lying if I said that I didn’t celebrate my first win when it did happen, even if it was only me breaking even and walking away with a three-dollar victory. Every bit counts lol. Now I had no big hitter win as you see in the movies (although I did witness some), but I did get $30 from a price is right machine :P (shoutout to you Grandma, as that, was our show that we would watch together when I was growing up).
I'm on Top of the World
From living and going to school in Arizona for three and a half years I always heard of and saw Top Golf, but I never made it out to it-and boy I wish I had sooner because that ish is sooooo dang fun. Think of Wii-golf but in person lol, and when I tell you that Wii golf was my ishhhhh oooooo. If it was an Olympic sport I would have won a gold medal back in the day. But that's about as far as my golfing expertise goes unless you count mini golf. So I was a wee bit scared when it came to ya now actually hitting a real-life ball with force and not just swinging a remote or lightly tapping a ball to get it to go through a windmill lol. But once I got the hang of it, it was unstoppable fun and laughter. It was the last thing that we did in the city before leaving and there was honestly no better way to end the trip.
My first vegas trip was one for the boos, and I honestly can't wait to go back again. From the endless amount of laughs and memories made with friends and family to all the alcohol that was drank (it is Vegas after all lol) and everything in between. It was a much needed weekend out and away from everything and to be with some of my best friends just made it all that much better :)
Till our next mini-vacay.
And until next week.
Stay happy. Stay healthy. Stay safe.
